Time to discipline myself!

Ok....I have been bad...I admit it to anyone (if there is anyone out there) who will read this blog. Jelly beans, cake, chocolate eggs, cheesey potatoes...just to name a few of my transgressions:) I have been working towards a goal to live a more disciplined life, starting with food intake and getting my physical body in reasonably decent condition again. Recently, I have miserably failed at working towards that goal. But now it is time to start again and NOT give up. I refuse to give up on this one, even with fleeting failures.

Thankfully, each day is a new day and I can start again. So tomorrow, I start making the choices that I need to in order to live a healthy life. May favorite verse and probably what I would consider my mantra is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am going to claim that and start living it!

We have have things like this in our lives that we know we should be doing different. I encourage you to chose one thing in your life that you want to change and make a consciouse choice to make a change for the better. Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!

He is Risen!

A phrase that we as Christians have heard for generations..."He is Risen!". How often to do we think about the implications of that phrase and what Christ really did for us on the cross when he died and then rose again?

Too many of us concentrate on the fact that Christ died for our sins...and it is true. But, we have to remember that He did not stay dead! He rose from the dead. Satan had no hold on Jesus because He was blameless in every way. He did not deserve to be beaten, stabbed, spit on, rejected, and finally crucified. He chose to step down from heaven to be with us, and then take our punishment upon himself because He loves us. That is what it boils down to....He LOVES US!

How many of your friends would choose to go through what Jesus did so that you didn't have to? I think we have some friends and family who would go to great lengths for us, but would they really do what Jesus did for us....especially when we deserved the punishment??? Not likely.

So as we celebrate Easter this weekend with family, friends and the Easter Bunny, keep in mind what Jesus did for you and take time to thank Him.
